Paul Polak has spent years practicing what this book preaches. His ideas are different, require more effort than fund raising, and really work. Ridding the world of poverty can only be done by encouraging and empowering the poor who are willing to work their way out. This book offers a pretty good case for the multi-faceted impact of increased income in the lives of the poor. (He defines “poor” as living on one to two dollars per day.)
